Rainy Day Band Concert

Today was Vale's Semester Review for Band, which basically was a mini-concert except that it was held during 5th period and was SUPPOSED to be held in the auditorium but since it has been raining all day, they had to move the Semester Review into the band room. I do have to put in a bit of a side note here... some of you know that Vale has been failing band because he was put in the beginning band class with kids that were just learning how to play their instruments and Vale has been playing his clarinet for 2 years. As many of you know, Vale doesn't like to practice. He is one of those who quits the minute anything gets hard, SO what Vale was doing was entertaining the class instead of playing and participating because he thinks he knows it all. He has had to learn a very valuable lesson this quarter (and not just with band-- but that's a story for another day) that it's much more work to bring your grade up than it is to just maintain the A you are given when the semester starts.
